It feels good to be back in the city.
My mom drove me home tonight after I attended Microsoft VS.NET launch event at George Mason. We didn’t leave the house until eleven o’clock, and even though she worked all day and welcomed my uncle Silvio’s secretary from DR who’s here for training, she still had the energy to drive two hours in the rain to get me back to school. She’s snoring under my covers now, I’ll be signing off soon to let her sleep.
I’m glad I stayed in NOVA as the event was well worth it and this new technology may have a serious impact on my career. I received an Academic version of VS.NET, and (the reason why I attended) an OEM copy of Windows XP Professional. I’ll be formatting sometime this week. I’m making the move to legit software. It feels good.
I’m so behind in my classes right now that I’ll be struggling for the rest of the semester to keep a 3.0. The Academic Regulation Appeals Committee approved my request for a retroactive withrdawal from my summer and fall semesters. So, instead of C, F, F, F, F, I, C, I now have 7 W’s, which carry no weight on GPA. That puts my GPA back up to 3.125, so I’m really happy about that.
I have a visual basic project, and an economics test next week that I need to get to work on. More importantly, I have an English paper that is three weeks late. Liz, my instructor must be fed up with me.
