That there were thirty seats for more than forty pupils made a spectacle out of my literature section. It didn’t help that the mostly female class thought the gay German-Chilean professor was dreamy.
I would like to stay in that section as the guy is serving a very stimulating set of texts and a serious intellectual challenge. But, that I’d have a twenty-six page printout to read for Thursday and a 400 page volume to read for Tuesday is not so appetizing.
The professor that is suggested by the program offered an altogether different syllabus: two pages printed in big font as opposed to four (also front & back) with a tight 12pt serif.
A section number of “1” becomes a “2” on my registration card and someone else gets a seat with Sebastian.
