I am not a religous person. Furthermore, I do not appreciate others imposing their religous beliefs unto me. Additionally I do not like to be recruited to religion.
Last week we had a curt exchange over my beliefs and how they conflicted with those of the house, which are Catholic.
My housemother was excited to tell me this evening that a former student wrote her saying that he decided to become Catholic. Cristina took the opportunity to suggest that I might be so lucky — with a preemptive smile so as to not leave me room to bite back.
Ironically, yesterday they were making fun of the door-to-door’ers. And they appreciated my comment that, “It must be difficult to be the voice of God.”
Why can’t they, and everyone else, just let God do the talking?
After dinner! (sobremesa)
They just tag-teamed me for at least fifteen minutes about a bishop that did a lot of work in Chile with the homeless and was later pronounced a saint. They went on without any verbal acknowledgement from me.
