I’m already here (in Argentina), and it already feels like home. There was the confusing commute from the airport to La Plata by taxi, but that had more to do with my not remembering the address of the apartment buliding than anything else. So I navigated the city by landmarks and familiar storefronts.
Pablo was here at Jose’s apartment waiting for me to come. He’s the architect–real nice guy. Jose came back home shortly after taking a test. Everything shut down in the city soon after because of the Argentina vs. Germany World Cup Semi-final. We watched it while we caught up. It hardly took any time at all. I was just here five months ago. It feels like less to all of us.
I’m just going to take photos and work on some late papers while I’m here. My friends are bent on showing me everything they can. Sounds great to me.
I like this place.
