Travelling out of climate sequence is jarring. In a good way. When I leave winter for summer I feel like a cheat. Leaving summer for winter should make me feel cheated but it doesn’t.
La Plata is nestled in an a breezy autumnal romance. It’s warm enough to be out and about after sundown and just cold enough to dress in fashionable jackets and light coats.
Warm clothes give us excuses to snuggle ourselves. Snuggling keeps us charmed. Get in a bad mood and put on a hoodie (with pockets). You’ll feel better.
For the the conscientious, overall people are taking the loss pretty well here. After the instant of the first goal of the match the city cheered through open windows and doors. It was like an echo inside of a second. Some people are saying the referees were paid off, but most just say “It came down to PK’s. Really, what can you expect? They did their best,” or some humble variation.
Tomorrow I’ll have some more Buenos Aires and cool breeze.
