I know I woke her up at least three times with kisses. She played along, sleepily. I was serious. That was fifteen minutes ago. Now I’m tired and locked out of her room. I hesitated on the way out and the lock latch fell as I pulled the door behind me.
I’m committed to the living room since knocking on her bedroom door would disturb her three roommates, too. Stiff furniture and the promise of the Sun through these big windows soon mean I’m not getting any real rest.
So maybe I won’t sleep. That will be easy without the help of some very in-her-room little green pills I keep for these occasions.
Her roommates are going to wake up to find me shivering blanketless in my boxers on their couch. There’s an explanation, but they’ll probably have enough assumptions to fill in their own blanks. I would.
