I spent some time playing with Textpattern today. What you see is a result of the convenience of a very clean script which I would recommend, and my fishing that barrel of photo stock I’ve amassed. I don’t hear as much thrashing around in there–it’s time to replenish.

Time has been speeding up. I’ve been hired for IT shopping twice now. This should really be a function of DATUMAX, LLC as I spend more time researching electronics than I do managing hosting. Instead I’ll stay below radar. I have to file taxes for the business I neglect.

Chess has been slowly leaking back into my life. Lesson planning for Fairview Elementary’s Chess Club is almost enjoyable. Two of my coaches are taking the initiative to put together a syllabus, and puzzles both of which will make this second session a lot more professional.

This time around should be less stressful and more fun for all involved. We are even assembling a team of 10-20 students to compete against other schools. It’s all sloppy now, but I might try to make a league out of it if I can decipher the language these PTA mothers speak and actually get my hands in there.

In theory I could become a salary employee to FCPS by coaching after school five days a week. Or, the club could pick up a few more schools. Bank either way.

Can’t wait to hear what Kyle thinks of the new layout. Hope his jump goes well.
